When a participant's performance falls between two score levels, which statement best reflects your philosophy? (Choose one)

Adjudicators should score at the lower level unless there is clear evidence the higher level has been achieved. Adjudicators should apply the rubric as objectively as possible and assign the score that best aligns with the demonstrated evidence. Adjudicators should err on the side of the higher score when a participant is close, recognizing the educational value of encouragement.

How do you balance maintaining rigorous standards with recognizing student achievement?

I generally prefer preserving existing practices unless there is a compelling reason to change. I prefer making incremental improvements while maintaining consistency. I regularly question long-standing practices to ensure they continue serving participants well. My approach depends on the issue and the evidence available.

Committment Agreement

Committee members are expected to:

Attend scheduled virtual committee meetings (as often as once a month)
Review materials in advance of meetings
Participate respectfully and constructively in discussions
Consider the needs of the national community, not solely those of their own program or chapter
