The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) Mentorship Program connects early career theatre educators (typically in their first 1–3 years) with experienced mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, and professional support throughout the school year.


This program is designed to foster meaningful, one-to-one professional relationships that support both instructional growth and overall well-being. Mentors serve as both coaches and support systems - offering practical strategies, sharing resources, and creating space for reflection and encouragement.


Participants can expect a structured yet flexible experience, including a minimum of six intentional check-ins across the year aligned to key moments in the school calendar. These touchpoints are designed to meet educators where they are - offering support during high-pressure periods, opportunities for reflection, and guidance for future planning.


At its core, this program is about connection: reducing isolation, building confidence, and strengthening theatre educators and programs through shared experience and support.

Deadlines:
  • Round One Application Deadline: July 29, 2026 (for a mid-August start)
  • Round Two Application Deadline: September 1, 2026 (for a mid-September start)

Program Expectations & Agreement
  • I will engage in approximately six touchpoints between October and May, including an initial virtual meeting.
  • I will communicate consistently and respectfully, honoring scheduled meetings and commitments.

  • I understand that mentorship is developmental, not evaluative, and is centered on listening, reflecting, and shared learning.
